Buck Brannaman has been starting horses since he was 12 years old. Throughout his life horses have
always been the common thread that he has weaved his life around. As he says "Horses and life, it's all
the same to me." Kip was fortunate enough to be able to work for Buck for 5 yrs. Traveling with him from
clinic to clinic all over the US and even to Australia. During the down times Kip was able to stay at the

I started in the saddle business in Oct. 1981, at Smith & Edwards Co., and I have been
self-employed since April of 1990. I worked with Dale Harwood making the "Ray Hunt" saddles
for a year. Dale has made probably the greatest influence in my saddle making, and I am
grateful for his help. Others who have influenced my work are Bob Ray and Randy Hansen.
