Missy has been riding and working with horses since she was a little girl. She has spent the last 20
yrs showing in dressage and jumping, and for the past 17 yrs she has focused her career in the
competitive dressage environment. This produced multiple Regional and National championships in
both under saddle and in-hand classes. Missy did this all on backyard, reject, hard to deal with, type
horses, horses of all different breeds. In addition to showing at local shows, Missy also travels to
larger shows including USEF/ USDF rated shows, CDI’s, and USET qualifiers across the country.
She also provides transport of horses to and from shows in a custom built Jamco trailer, along with
coaching and schooling of horse and rider at shows.
When training Missy tries to provide the horse with more than just arena work. Her program
includes, jump school days, trail days, cow days, and show prep days. She tries to expose her
horses to as much as she can so they are as prepared as they can be going to shows, clinics away
from home, and any other opportunities the horse and rider may have available to them.
This has been made possible because Missy has a unique combination of mixing what she had
learned from master horsemen Tom Dorrance, Ray Hunt, and Buck Brannaman, with her dressage
training. This means that Missy can help a large variety of students and professionals, from riders
who want to show to riders who just want to become better horseman. From riding in a western
saddle to a dressage saddle she educates each rider the same. This gives those who want to be
successful with their horse, and want to show, a way to cross over these two worlds which
produces a respectful, safe, and well educated equine partner for the show ring, as well as an
educated, independent thinking owner. It is important to her that the owner is able to take what they
have learned and apply it successfully on their own. Regardless if your horse seems perfect to you
or if your horse is being disobedient on the ground or under saddle, she can help you.
